Course Objective:
Upskill, reskill, future-skill. These are the buzzwords being used in a newspaper advertisement to encourage individuals to look at new industries and opportunities. If you’re in your thirties or mid-forties, reskilling or upskilling can be a good thing if you want to improve your prospects within an organization or change careers all together.
The fact of the matter is companies are not hiring people 50+ and it has nothing to do with your skills and experience. It comes down to dollars and cents. Mature workers leave the workplace (not necessarily by choice) because their salaries are higher, and they tap into their medical benefits more often than their younger colleagues.
It’s time to ask the tough question. If re-employment is not in your future, what are your options? In a word—entrepreneurship.

This course provides mature men and women with the knowledge, skills and mindset to move from military retirement or retrenched corporate employee to an educated and empowered entrepreneur be it on a full- or part-time basis that generates an income.

Course Description:
Tapping into the Lean Canvas model (which is an adaptation of the Business Model Canvas), and the 8P’s entrepreneurship path framework, participants go through a step-by-step process that helps them to start with a business idea and then construct a business plan. By reviewing and addressing nine basic business elements they will quickly formulate a 1-page business plan blueprint.
The participants then will receive further instruction and guidance of each of the nine business elements to further develop the overall business blueprint and will learn how to map out a basic marketing campaign for their business.
This Masterclass is conducted over a 2-day period and an additional 1-day two weeks later.
